Major Assignments OverviewFor this assignment you will need to conduct a thematic analysis of twitter posts covering a one$-$year timeframe from October $17,2018,$ to October $17,2019$ that mention the OCS Twitter handle $($@ONCannabisStore$).$ Analyzing this one year of data will help provide an understanding of the initial rollout of cannabis legalization in Ontario. It is preferable that this assignment is completed in groups of two but can be done individually if necessary.Step $1$: Thematic AnalysisA thematic analysis of the Twitter posts needs to be conducted using a framework approach $($Ritchie & Spencer, $1994).$ Framework analysis is a qualitative systematic process for managing, analyzing, and identifying themes in qualitative data following a five$-$step process:$($i$)$ Familiarization: Become acquainted with and evaluated the tweets. The data is investigated in order to identify and document the key ideas and recurrent topics present. $($ii$)$ Recognition of the thematic framework: Take a sample of the tweets and explain your sampling method. Use your sample to identify codes $($nodes of information$).($iii$)$ Indexing: Evaluated each tweet and allocated the tweet to one or more of codes you identify.$($iv$)$ Charting: Finalize your codebook. Once the final charting is complete, the classification needs to be validated for reliability. For groups select $20\%$ of the tweets that your partner coded and validate for thematic reliability $($divide number of accurate codes by total sample count document the percentage$).($v$)$ Interpretation: Conduct Thematic Analysis $-$ Based on the codes you identify reduce these to broader themes. The coded tweets need to be examined by each coder to identify the frequently discussed topics, ideas, and patterns present. Use some basic descriptive statistics to identify dominant codes.Step $2$: ReportThe paper must include an introduction $($including research questions$),$ a literature review $($what we know about cannabis and why its important$),$ methodology $($highlighting the thematic analysis process Step $1),$ discussion of findings$/$results$,$ and discussion$/$conclusion$.$The format of the report shall be as follows: o The report must be typed, double$-$spaced, using a $12-$point font, and $2\mathrm{.}5$ cm $(1$ inch$)$ margins. o The report must be written in grammatically correct paragraphs, with appropriate subheadings. It is to have an introduction and conclusion. o There is no minimum nor maximum length for this report. The length will be determined by the amount of information to be communicated and the nature of the data presented.
