Make observations and analyze them - Begin the observation session(s) well in advance of the due date. You will need to make at least two 30- minute observations of your subject. The first observation notes are due September 27. Before completing your notes, use the checklist at the top of page 103 in The Bedford Reader to ensure you have included relevant information that is sensory, specific and concrete. After you observe, analyze and find patterns in what you've seen. This may be difficult; however, spending plenty of time writing informally about your observations will help. Don't expect to immediately assemble your notes into a coherent paper. Instead, spend some time digesting what you have seen. Try to draw out what is significant .
