Manager B. Our numbers have increased dramatically since Jason joined the company. He not only meets his targets, he exceeds them. He has excellent drive to achieve results. However, I have two key people who are about to leave if I dont get rid of him. I dont want to do that. I need his performance and abilities. He really is amazing at what he does well, there just some issues on people side. If you ask me, he is not a bad guy. He just drives people hard. Besides, he does his job, doesnt he?
Manager C. Mark is another manager who not only meets his targets, he exceeds them. Nobody can match his technical abilities. People respect his technical abilities. He has excellent knowledge about any aspect of his job. I just wish he could communicate with his people more and exert more effort toward developing them. However, he has a different view of the people aspect of his job. He says everyone should be able to take care of themselves and do their jobs well, as that is what professionalism is all about.
