Many companies, especially in the current economic environment, are only interested in making targeted investments while trying to eliminate as much debt as possible to make sure they are not over-leveraged. In most cases we would all like to be debt free but is that always good for a company? What downside, if any, is there for a company to have little to no debt? Does is make itself a more attractive takeover candidate by another company?
