Mateo has received a notice of assessment from the Commissioner of Taxation which is different from the taxable income he returned for the Year Ended 30 June 2022. The notice states that it disallows the amount of $2000 that Mateo has spent on working from home during the 2022 year of income. Mateo is very upset as he knows that he spent this money and believes it to be an allowable deduction.
