11. To be accepted into the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta a student applying

must have certain prerequisites and an acceptable average in these courses. The

prerequisite courses are: English 30-1, Bio 30, one of either Chem 30 or Physics 30, one

of Math 30-2, Math 31 or Math 30-1 and one grade 12 course in Fine Arts, Humanities, a

Second Language, or Physical Education. How many different prerequisite combinations

are possible for admission into Nursing?

14. Makenna paints rocks. She has 5 glittery red rocks, 6 sparkly blue rocks and 3 glowing

green rocks. How many ways can she arrange two red, two blue and one green rock on her

window sill?

15. Determine the number of arrangements of the letters of the word PARADISE in which the two A's are not adjacent.

16. 84 different hexagons can be formed by connecting points on the circumference of a circle. How many points are on the circle?

17. Kaylun has 6 different pencils and 5 different erasers. She is trying to decide which five

items she will take with her to write her test. If she must have at least two pencils and two

erasers how many different groups of items can she choose?
