About the Assignment:
It is often challenging to remove personal biases when making decisions. This individual assignment relates to problem-solving, decision-making, and subjective and objective tools. Some group work is needed; however, students individually complete the analysis and insights. Include academic or professional references to support your ideas in the reflection.
Instructions:
Read the case "All Inclusive Hawaii" provided in the Assignment 1 Folder. This assignment contains many steps and is somewhat complex, as is decision-making. Follow these steps carefully to complete your work. The process is as important as the results. For those unfamiliar with an all-inclusive vacation concept, take the time to look up what it means before beginning the assignment.
Group activities (Some time is available during class)
1. As a group, perform brainstorming sessions to identify and agree upon at least Seven (7) projects related to the strategic objective.
2. Ensure each group member has access to the group results.
3. Capture the results, take notes, including the classmates' names, save this and hand them in with the assignment.
4. After identifying the projects, each group must narrow the list to five (5). Find and use a technique that works for your group. Capture the results, including a description of the technique or process used.

Individual activities:
1. Create a PowerPoint presentation (5 8 pages) or MS Word document (3 5 pages), excluding the title and reference pages. The assignment must include:
1.1. The names of your group members and the results of your brainstorming session. Identify the top five (5) projects.
1.2. A personal reflection on the group brainstorming session, and at minimum, include your (personal) insights on what went well, what didn't go well, and ideas on how you would perform brainstorming in the future.
1.3. Explain your group's process to down-select the five (5) most important projects.
1.4. Create a Paired Comparison chart and perform the comparison using the five (5) projects. All your group members will have the same list.
1.5. Include the chart and results in your assignment.
1.6. Evaluate the #1 project using the Six Thinking Hats.
1.7. Reflect on your experience using both decision-making tools process. Your reflection should include insightful and meaningful content, such as which approach worked best, whether the process was simple or complex, whether you have enough information, does your decision remain the same or has changed, etc.
1.8. Recommend to Hotel President the project (1) you recommend and the reason(s) why. The reasons should be based on your paired comparison and six thinking hats analysis.
2. Include references using APA to support your ideas in the reflection.
3. Organize your work so the message is clear. Perform a spell check and include headings, bullets or images to enhance your message to the Board of Directors.
