MGT300 Organizational Behavior

Q1. In organizations, individuals tend to base their behavior not on how their external environment actually is, but rather on how see it or believe it to be. Indeed, an understanding of how individuals make decisions can help us explain and predict behavior, but few important decisions are simple or clear enough for the rational models assumptions to apply. As a result, we find individuals looking for solutions that satisfice rather than optimize, injecting biases and prejudices into the decision process, and relying on intuition. Based on the preceding, assume an organization in Ajman and describe how stereotyping can cause problems for some managers when making ethical decisions. Please give an example (5 points).

Q2. Discuss how the concepts of core self-evaluation (CSE), self-monitoring, and proactive personality can help us to understand personality (5 points).
