Therefore, business modeling depends on IT support to enable and monitor the implementation of strategies and tactics of business processes such as transportation. By using decision support systems, the different employees in a company get help to position their behaviors and judgments based on clearly defined procedures, rather than relying on subjective and unformalized measures. This is especially critical for transportation. Apart from the mere algorithmic efficiency of proposed systems, it is also essential that the modeling used in such tools is transparent. The user can understand what is going on behind the computer screen. The rapidly changing environments of many companies create a requirement to alter the economic models, and thereby perhaps the tools used, ever more frequently. Constraint programming, with its basis in rapid prototyping and logical semantics, can be critical in constructing such models and tools. In fact, it is already used in many cases $($Sjoland$,$ nd$).$

Some additional transportation constraints for such modeling could be the routes, suppliers, gasoline$/$diesel$,$ equipment maintenance, equipment performance, and more, pending on the situation.
