Situation overview:

The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to learn firsthand some of the realities of a career in professional selling. Every sales career is different, and we are all likely drawn towards different types of careers. In this assignment you should reach out to a salesperson in an industry you have some relative interest in, this way you can gain some valuable information regarding both the job and the industry.

The point of this assignment is to allow you to reach out in a way that answers your own personal questions. As part of this assignment you will need to create 5 questions to ask your selected salesperson. A portion of your mark will be the selection and justification of your interview questions.

Briefly provide a general overview of the industry your selected salesperson is in along with a bio of their experience in sales. Discuss why you chose this individual for the interview.

Question selection and justification:

List the five questions you have created for this interview, provide an explanation as to why you chose these questions and what information you are hoping to gain from them.

Lessons Learned:

From this interview discuss what you learned from the experience, what were the key takeaways were there any surprise answers? Did they have any good advice to provide? How do you personally feel about a career in sales has your opinion changed? Was there any negative aspect of your interaction with this individual?
