Consultant Report

You have been hired as a consultant for your local community hospital. You must formulate a written report regarding the issues and their potential solutions that you have been contracted to write. Along with the written report, the hospital is requesting a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation regarding an overview of health care delivery, an ethics brochure that it can use for staff and provide to patients, and a group video in which you and several other consultants discuss how to improve health care for a special needs population in your geographic area. The only item due this week is the $5-$ to $8-$page written report.

Consider the following scenario as you develop this written report:

Your local community hospital serves a population of approximately $60,000.$ The setting is rural and the socioeconomic status of the general population is at the lower end of the spectrum. Average household earnings are approximately $$24,000$ annually. The average head of household is a $34-$year$-$old single woman with two children. There are several groups that offer community clinics. In addition, your geographic area includes a large special needs population that has difficulty obtaining adequate health care.

The hospital CEO and board of trustees have hired you to look into ways to improve the health care experience for everyone, including the special needs population. You will formulate a $5-$ to $8-$page,written report that reviews the following: healthcare in the U$.$S$.$; the medical home care model; managed care and integrated systems; and populations with special needs$$ health disparities. Using work you have completed throughout this course, and after addressing any feedback from your instructor, you will draft this new $5-$ to $8-$page report.

In your report you will explore, analyze, and explain how each of these topics impacts your local community hospital. You will also offer solutions. Once you have completed this report, you will submit the report to the assignment upload area for this module. ONLY the written $5-$ to $8-$page report is due this week.
