Instructions for this Assignment

Purpose:

The purpose of the term paper is to demonstrate your understanding of how all of the principles of public administration that you learned this semester tie together in a public organization. This activity allows you to bring all of your learned knowledge together into a single, cohesive, and comprehensive discussion of the organization of your choice.

Task:

Take an already existing government agency or non$-$profit organization using perspectives learned throughout the semester and apply these principles to a research paper. Your paper should include discussions about the organization's history, organizational structure, leadership, and management style within the organization, the budgetary system used, potential areas for ethical concerns, and opportunities for social justice. Your paper should display an understanding of the following learning objectives:

An understanding of the structure of public organizations and agencies;

An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of government organizations in society;

An insight into the workings of public agencies; and

An ability to research and analyze topics of public administration.

Note $1$: You should create a thesis statement in the introduction of the term paper. In essence, the thesis introduces the main perspective of your term paper. Additionally, students should consider explaining the purpose and reasoning for research and analysis pertaining to the task.

Note $2$: You are encouraged to use secondary resources in the term paper. You must also properly cite sources when using secondary data. For information on APA guidelines including proper in$-$text citations, see Purdue Owl APA Guidelines.

Submission Format

This paper should be double$-$spaced, size $12$ point, Times New Roman font, include a title page with a centered title, and follow APA guidelines. This paper should be $1015$ pages in length. Any sources used should be properly cited in APA format.
