Motivation Exercise $3-1$

Consider two workers, say W$1$ and W$2,$ doing a "finishing operation" on units of a product, say p$,$ in a special $2-$person "manufacturing room," say R$.$ Assume that W$1$ and W$2$ work independently of each other.

Worker $1,$ WI$,$ releases one unit of product $p$ every $6$ minutes on the average, and worker $2,$ W$2,$ works a little faster than W$1$ and releases one unit of product $p$ every $5$ minutes on the average.

Whenever a unit of product $p$ is released by W$1$ or W$2,$ that unit of product $p$ is promptly transported out of room $R$ through its only door. Suppose a manufacturing inspector is watching the door of room $R$ so as to record production rate.

$($a$)$ The inspector should expect to see one unit of product $p$ transported out through the door of room $R$ every $x$ minutes. How would you calculate $x?$
