Question:
Mr Johnathon B. Good is the owner of two new Range Rover Sport Utility
Vehicles. He decided to sell the black 2022 model to pay for a new apartment.
He put a "for sale" sign on the Range Rover.
Mr Good received a call from Robert D. Scammer asking how much would he
be willing to sell the vehicle for. Mr Good said he is selling for $25 Million.
Mr Scammer told Mr Good that he loves that model and definitely will buy it
within 1 week, guaranteed. He however stated that he will give Mr Good $24.5 million within seven days and that he will immediately make arrangements
to put the funds together.
Encouraged by the quick response by Mr Scammer, Mr Good puts a sign on his
Range Rover that said, "For Sale $26 Million". Mr Uptown saw the sign and in
24 hours turned up at Mr Good's house with a cheque for $26Million. He
demanded the vehicle to be handed over to him immediately. However Mr
Good said that because of the increased interest in the sale, he has decided to
sell for $27 million.
It was sold that same evening to Dancehall Artiste Spillibeng for $27 Million.
Both Mr Scammer and Mr Uptown filed suit.
