For this assignment you will be creating an invoice quote system for your own IT business! To do this you will need to review the videos that I have linked you to down below. Then you will need to think up a name of your own IT business and a list of services that you offer. Once you do that you will need to be able to Quote your customer for services you provide to them.
To quote your customer you will need to open Microsoft Excel and create three separate sheets. On the first sheet you will need to create a set of columns that will hold your customer business information. This should include:
- Clients Firstname and Lastname
- Clients Business Name
- Clients Billing address
- Clients email address
- Clients Phone Number
On the second sheet you will create a list of the services that you can provide. This should include:
- Service Name
- Service Type (hourly, one time, etc.)
- Service Description
- Service Billing rate
And on the last sheet you are going to create an invoice quote template. This should be 8.5in by 11in paper and be in the print area so that when you go to print it isn't cut off. You can browse the example quote or estimation examples provided by both the online and client version of excel.
Once you have set up all three sheets you will create drop down sections on the invoice quote sheet linked to the data in the other two sheets. As an example, on the invoice sheet there should be a drop down for company business name which should be link back to the first sheet and allow the user to select a name from the list. The invoice should also calculate a total base on the quantity, of hours or amount of product, based on the services that is selected from its drop down. And to top it off it should calculate a tax rate, to be entered, and a promotional percentage off, to be entered. This is a fully functional quote sheet.
The requirements are as follows:
- Must have 3 pre-filled business information
- Must allow me to Enter One business information and populate in the drop down.
- Must have at least 10 services filled out
- All calculations must work properly
- Bonus points will be awarded if you can make the information auto populate when you select a business name and/or a service.
