My original problem statement:
The problem with the U.S. workforce is that it lacks a family-orientated work environment, which impacts employees' emotional state, productivity, and longevity within a company.
The work-life balance has always been difficult for most workers to achieve. Family-oriented work environments also have tremendous social impacts. Employers aim to benefit their employees and families by developing family-oriented work environments; these advantages trickle to the community level, benefiting our society. Davidescu et al. (2020) discuss this concept by examining how family-oriented work environments help achieve SDGs.
According to this analysis, eradicating social problems like poverty must align with strategies that foster economic growth and address social needs. Family-oriented working environments meet these criteria. First, they promote employees' performance, leading to higher organizational productivity and sustained economic growth. Second, they address social needs like the increased need for stronger families to aid social development. Therefore, family-oriented working environments immensely benefit employers, employees, and society.
