Sometimes recipe videos are available, but don't include the amount of time it takes to prep ingredients and cook the meal. Turning a quick 30 minute meal into a hour or more. Prep time before cooking would be the independent variable because that variable can not be manipulated , while total cook time would be dependent, because it can be manipulated/ changed. | would predict that the relationship between the two variables would be fairly positive, as the recipes would gradually get more complex relying on more time showing a positive increase between prep time and actual cook time.
