My research proposal was done with a mixed methods approach as my intent was to use quantitative research as well as setting an environment that would produce qualitative results as well. The tools I would have to use would be a combination of survey's, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. My topic was crime "Crime Predictions and outcomes utilizing Artificial Intelligence". My plan was to take law enforcement officers, lawyers, judges, and individuals from the community both non-criminal and previous criminals and having them sit through cases and see if they could determine what was going to happen in the trial after reading results of previous trials. If I could get similar predictions from all the parties involved, I would then conduct a survey and questionnaire to see if there was anything swaying their opinions in the trial outcome and also ask how they felt in determining if it was violating rights of criminals to see if it was fair for AI to determine someone's fate instead of a jury
