My MBTI personality type is INFP-T, which is mediator. I was surprised by that because I have taken the test before and received different results. As I read through the page and results, I saw that they recommend taking the test every six months because personalities change over time. Reading the details of mediators, it does seem to fit my current way of being. What I find interesting is that with mediator personality types, it is challenging for mediators to find a satisfying career. That feels very accurate as I sometimes jump from what I want to do with my life, and I am currently trying to determine what my next move is. Pieces of the description that really resonate with me are that mediators are creative, independent, and need meaningful relationships. One part that does not agree with me is that it says mediators are not high-pressure salespeople. I take pride in how good of a salesperson I am but I do admit it is not something I want to do long-term. The results also say that in terms of workplace habits, to mediators, that if something is not worth doing, it really is not worth doing. This could cause problems as managers will need to determine how to make mediators feel motivated to do something that may not feel worthwhile. Challenges in the workplace that exist in the workplace due to differing personalities is that first, we do not know everyone's personality type, so there is no way of really knowing how to speak to everyone. Secondly, there is no realistic way to accommodate every type of personality, so there will always be some people that will not feel as their needs are met, so managers will need to try to not focus on one personality, but pieces of all of them to encourage all members of their teams as much as they can.
