Also, a traditional police officer does not have the training in order to handle complex computer crimes. Usually an expert would be needed and not every department has the luxury of having a team dedicated to computer crimes.

Investing in properly keeping agencies up to date on the latest cybercrimes, the latest technology and keeping departments funded so they can at least have more cybercrime experts ready when needed. Another big factor in this is raising the public's knowledge of cybercrimes. Social engineering attacks are one of the most dominant threats and this includes phishing scams. Phishing scams can be easily seen to the trained eye. The criminal justice system and law enforcement agencies should make it a priority to help keep their communities safe from these types of cybercrimes.
