A: Read the following ethical case and solve the case based on deontology. You need to argue for your solution based on deontology. (3 Marks).
The ethical case: The Danville Airlines
"A pilot for Danville, David Reiger, has just been given a genetic test (without his consent) and found to have tested positive for Huntingtons disease. Management is concerned that his having this gene, even though he does not yet have the disease, may put passengers and crew at risk. Previous research shows that in a very small percentage of cases the initial onset of the disease may inhibit his ability to fly. Is the risk large enough to justify taking him out of a flying role, or are his claims that he is fine and should be allowed to continue to fly more compelling? Reiger claims he doesnt want to die or put others at risk and that he will be the first to ground himself if symptoms start to appear, but in the meantime, he wants to be allowed to fly and he will sue you if you try to either fire or ground him." What should you do as the manager? Solve the case based on deontology.
