OVERVIEW

The science of electronics covers a wide range of subjects. As a result, the field of electronics is very large. This fact is not surprising when you remember that both a simple flashlight and the most complex computer are electronic devices.

Nida's Series $130$E Basic Electricity$/$ Electronics Course teaches basic electronics concepts and skills. Any student who completes the Nida course is fully qualified to find a job in electronics.

This first lesson in Unit I$--$DC Circuits starts with a brief history of electricity and electronics.

An explanation of lesson structure follows. Students who understand the construction and flow of the lessons use the lesson material more effectively.

This first lesson also deals with safety. Learning about the potential dangers involved in working around electricity and electronic devices motivates students to learn about safety precautions. Students readily learn and adopt the standard rules for developing good habits of personal and laboratory safety.
