No matter how large or small, every community has had a leader or a specific historical event that has shaped its identity. Monuments and memorials memorialize these individuals or events. Studnts are being asked to understand better how the memorials symbolize the community from a leadership perspective. Look for a public monument in your community and find out who is being commemorated/honoured there. For example, in Kamloops, British Columbia (BC), there is a cenotaph and a monument near the city centre. 1. It is imperative that you understand the significance of the person or event being commemorated. Conduct further research on the person or event and explain how they exhibited leadership qualities or preferences. ( 10 marks) 2. Describe the leader's leadership style, traits, behaviour, or leadership preferences and how they behave as a leader. (10 marks) 3. Describe how the person obtained their leadership position and what type of power they hold (See French and Raven's Bases of Power Model). (10 marks) 4. Please describe the leadership approach or strategy which best explains the leadership of this leader, as shown in Chapter 12. (10 marks) 5. Summarize what you have learned about leadership, power, values, ethics, and the leaderlevent in your paper. (10 marks)
