You are required to submit a 4000 word strategic analysis report on a medium-large organisation. It is important that the organisation you choose is large enough (1000+ eployees) but not too complex in terms of industry, global presence. You must check that you have access to relevant information online such as the annual report, newspaper articles, reports from trade journals, competitor information... Examples of suitable organisations could include the following companies: Costa Coffee, Jaguar Land Rover (not simple), JD Sports, Npower, Ryanair, and Tesco.

The report will include:

The identification of the key features of the external environment and their impact on the organisation.

An analysis of the internal organisations responses to these factors.

An appraisal of the strategic solutions that the organisation could use.

A critical evaluation of the organisations strategy.

If you want to target an organisation that is not in the above list, please seek approval from your tutor.

Key issues:

Aim to produce a report which does not exceed 4000 words. Thus, you must clearly identify key issues and not present a list of all matters irrespective of importance.

If you need to use appendices (which do not count in the word limit), make sure they are referenced from the main body of the report and relevant in their entirety. The inclusion of original company documents or documents widely available on the internet is not permitted.
