Now a consensus question. Of the three listed below, which one do you believe is by far the most critical and why?

1.Innovation readiness. While my organization practices innovation in some areas, there are many areas that it is not practiced well. As the organization grows, there is an opportunity for innovation to come alive in each department. Currently, it is localized to products we sell to customers. The question needs to be asked of every department where they stand on all factors to determine their readiness for innovation (Desai, 2013).

2.Executive leadership program. The current leadership team in my organization does not know how to build an innovation engine or lead people in it (Desai, 2013). Each leader must be bought in on building an innovation engine and be taught how to do so for it to be effective (Desai, 2013). If this team had a program to guide them in building that innovation engine, it would enable to the team to innovate where they had not believed they could before.

3.Selecting and developing talent for innovation. From what I have seen, my organization have quite a few intrapreneurs, but they are hiding. They are hiding because their ideas and innovative spirits have been beaten down due to "this is how we've always done it" (Desai, 2013). When we can find these people and invite their ideas, we will be able to make sure each department has the support they need to be innovative.
