Now that you have put down some concepts on paper in the Brochure Thumbnails assignment, you will build your brochure within InDesign including all images, headlines and sub-headlines. Your company, service, product(s) or issue/cause should be one of those used for the Brochure Thumbnails and my feedback on that assignment should help point you in the right direction. For the design portion, the brochure should have the following:Size: 8(1)/(2) by 11 inches, folded in three so there are three panels on each side of the page, and landscape orientation.Your gutter must be twice the size of your margin. I would recommend a 0.25 inch margin (and .5 inch gutter). You must have a 1/8th (0.125) inch bleed, even if you don't use it (but you should). You must use a grid. Review the brochure guidelines in the module. You must have real headlines, subheads, and captions (real English words relevant to the topic of your design). Body copy may be placeholder text (See What is Lorem Ipsum?). Please keep in mind that in order for me to visualize your layout, you must set up your grid, columns and images (images can be replaced later, but should be of sufficient size, i.e.300 pixels per inch). For the written portion, you must answer the following questions in a separate Word document:Message to your audience (what are you saying? what are you selling? what are you promoting? what is your call-to-action?)Audience for your brochure (who are we talking to? Young adults 18-25? Senior citizens? Professional women 30-39 living in a big metropolis?). Be as specific as possible.Color selection (how do our colors work together and are they appropriate for your audience? how do they fit the message? review the color assignment)Typeface (is our typography legible? does it fit the subject and audience? review the typography assignment)The assignment is a compilation of previous assignments and an early version of your final. The draft is worth 20 points. I will be grading on planning (written part) and design draft. Please carefully examine all the resources provided in this module and previous modules (especially typography and color); they should help you complete this assignment. To recap:You must submit the PDF, IDML and written portion (Word Document).Make sure you follow the format/answer the questions above to receive full credit. Please ask all questions well in advance to allow for possible solutions.
