Now that you've watched the lectures, The Abilene Paradox movie, and the Challenger Disaster Video, I'd like you to think for a moment about when you may have observed the Abilene Paradox or Groupthink. Share an example of where you may have personally observed a team 'on the road to Abilene' or caught in the grip of Groupthink. Have you ever been part of a very cohesive team that fell prey to either of these dysfunctions? If so, describe the setting and what happened. How could the team have avoided their disappointing decision or unfortunate result?

If you've never experienced or observed the Abilene Paradox or Groupthink (unlikely, but possible), provide a short description of a fictional but likely example of when you think you might see a team get caught in one of these dysfunctions. Explain how you can recognize when the Abilene Paradox or Groupthink is occurring and how you could prevent it. Finally, briefly explain why you feel the dysfunctional situation was the Abilene Paradox and not Groupthink, or why it was Groupthink and not the Abilene Paradox.
