OB Chapter 1 Assignment Building an OB Contingency Model 1. Pick ANY THREE OB Outcome Variables (Y variables) that we discussed in class (refer slide #s 12 and 13). 2. For each of these outcome variables, pick ONE predictor variable (X) and ONE Contingency Variable (Z) that you think affects it. Examples are given in Slide#15. Do not use the same examples to do your assignment! 3. Explain briefly, why these X variables in (2) above may affect the OB Outcome Variable (Y). And how does the Z variable alter the relationship. 4. You can pick X and Z variables from the Individual, Group or Organization levels in Slide#14 or make up your own. If you choose to make up your own, make sure that the variables have relevance to organizations. For example, fight with store cashier or road rage" are not organization-relevant variables. But family stress, illness, mood change, or climate change could impact individuals' behavior within organizations consistently and as such, are relevant for organizational outcomes. 5. Write up a page as a word document where you include each of your three OB models with a figure and an explanation of the logic beneath the figure. Note: You will have THREE MODELS with THREE explanations (each with 1 Dependent or Y variable; 1 Independent or X variable, and 1 Contingency or Z variable)
