Objective:

Defining Delinquency and what does this mean in our criminal justice system.... this labeling of our youth. Labeling theory of sociology. In our profession, we have to be careful what and how we speak and interact with our young people. If one is constantly called derogatory names by adults, authorities, and family that is what our children will think of themselves. I am not saying there are no consequences to their actions YES there are, but let's build them up. Let us open their eyes to new things. NYC is an amazing city, with so much to offer.

This week in discussions with each other, I would like you to pick TWO theories and state why and what you think this theory has in common with our juvenile delinquent youth 2021.

Relate the theory to the judgment calls or choices a youth has in our NYC.

Use what you have seen, what you have read about, what you have maybe experienced, maybe something in another class you learned.
