Dystopia Corporation must determine how many guns should be produced during each of the next four months. The demand during each of the next four months is as follows: Quarter Demand 1 43 2 64 3 75 4 23 Dystopia must meet demands on time. At the beginning of the first month, Dystopia has an inventory of 10 guns. At the beginning of each month, Distopia must decide how many guns should be produced during that month. For simplicity, we assume that guns manufactured during a month can be used to meet the demand for that month. During each month, Dystopia can produce up to 40 guns with regular-time labor at a total cost of $400 per gun. By having employees work overtime during a month, Dystopia can produce additional guns with overtime labor at a total cost of $450 per gun. At the end of each month (after production has occurred and the current month's demand has been satisfied), a carrying or holding cost of $20 per gun is incurred. Use linear programming to determine a production schedule to minimize the sum of production and inventory costs during the next four monthsStep by Step Solution
