The machinery had a remaining useful life of 5 years beyond 1 July 2016 and to be depreciated on a straight-line basis. On 1 January 2021, the machinery was sold by Scenic Ltd for $4,000. • Inventories: fair value was $4,000 higher than its carrying amount. These inventories were sold to external parties by 30 June 2017. • Receivables: fair value was $2,000 lower than its carrying amount. The receivables had all been collected by 30 June 2017.
