One learning moment from this class that I will carry with me is related to research. It can become a habit to find an article that you agree with an believe it to help prove your point in a particular paper. What I found in this class is the ability to dig deeper within that particular article. For this courses research paper, I found myself re-reading articles to find aspects that I may not agree with. Or, aspects of an argument within an article that Id like to understand better. At that point, I was trying to pull the article that the author referenced within the article that I was reading to see if I could read it and find a better understanding to the authors train of thought. Sometimes I was successful depending on the age of the article, but it taught me to not take things at face value.

Another learning moment from this class that I will carry with me is the topic that I chose for my research paper. I stumbled upon the topic by happenstance early on in the course during a preliminary search of issues within the safety realm. I found a general issue that piqued my interest and that led me to dig into the issue further. During the process of writing the research paper, I have grown quite fond of the issue and the potential solutions that have been attempted in industry. I plan on continuing researching into the issues surrounding employee engagement in the workplace as they relate to environmental, health and safety.
