Question:
One of the aspects of curriculum planning that has significantly changed for me since the start of this course is how RTI should be implemented in the classroom. Perhaps it's because I am an electives teacher who has learned to adjust "on the fly" to learning deficiencies within students that I have not considered a structure to impart RTI into the planning of lessons especially in core classes, including science and math.
Now it is obvious how critical it is that for RTI to be successful we as teachers and administrators must first screen then monitor before we can institute any type of prevention systems effectively. The last step is analyzing the data after instituting the RTI model. Here is where we must stop and say, "garbage in, garbage out, because if the model is approached incorrectly or the steps to intervention aren't followed in order then our data can be inaccurate which might cause us to abandon an otherwise effective RTI system.
