One of the hallmarks of the American jury system is the voir dire process where both prosecutors and defense attorneys have the opportunity to question potential jurors to eliminate those that they feel should not be on the jury.  There is quite a bit of controversy over the use of peremptory challenges.  Discuss this controversy and provide opinion on whether we should continue to allow for the use of peremptory challenges.
