OPMT 3345: Quality Auditing Assignment #2 - due July 9, 2020 Audit Planning You are an External Auditor for WerAudits, an international registrar for companies certified to ISO 9000. Since your co-worker Tammy's recent "forced departure", you have been very busy getting caught up on the backlog. You have been assigned your next task which is to do a Certification audit for Dave's Toxic Waste Removal and Tree Planting Company (a subsidiary of Dave's Welding Products and Stuffed Animals Company). They are currently certified to ISO 9001:2015 and your job will be to assess the company to decide whether they should be re-certified this year. Coming to their site, you performed the audit over several days by conducting interviews at all levels, looking through their systems, checking against the standards and their policies and procedures and have come up with the following observations: 1. They have an intranet site where all their documents are housed which is easily accessible to all employees in the organization 2. When interviewed, you found 5 out of 10 of employees were familiar with the company Quality Policy and could say how their work affected the quality management system 3. The company has a Quality Policy that is posted and relevant to the company requirements and ISO standard 4. Calibration equipment for testing radiation levels in the offices has a regulatory requirement stating testing must be done every 2 months. They had records showing it had been serviced in Jan and March but there were no records to indicate it had been done in May. You did note that it is on an automatic schedule with the calibration lab. 5. An employee provided the suggestion that customer feedback should be shared with all employees so they can be better connected to the customers and their needs 6. When reviewing the "Spill procedure policy' with 10 random workers, you found that 8 employees knew the policy very well, I was a little familiar with it and I had never heard of the policy. 1. Talking with Management, you found that there is a regularly scheduled Management Review of the Quality Management System. There are detailed minutes that show a review of various reports and internal audit results but there is no info on actions the team will take after the Review 8. When talking to the company mascot "Sludgy - the toxic waste tree". Sludgy recommended attending local schools might be a good way to educate kids on all that the company does to protect the environment 9. Company Policy states tree: should not be stored in the toxic waste yard. Evidence showed that all trees were stored in the toxic waste yard. 10. The company provides a comprehensive Health and Wellness program that includes resources for stress management and healthy living Now you are ready to create your SWOT analysis and issue any non-conformances!
