Organizational Behaviour (ORGB1135)
TOPIC IS Classroom Diversity And Groups CHAPTER 2
- Introduction
- A brief summary of what is happening.
- Assume the audience has never read the actual mini-case.
- Organization problem/issues as relevant to the chapter's concepts.
Present the major organizational problem as you see it. The problem will emphasize a relevant concept from the associated chapter. I am available for teams to check in with me to make sure you are heading in the right direction.
- In your presentation you will:
- Identify any relevant issue(s) at the organization level
- Identify any relevant issue(s) at the group/department level
- Identify any relevant issue(s) at the individual level
2.
Analysis
- A major objective is to illustrate how the OB concepts and theories in the case's chapter are relevant to the issue(s) you have identified.
- Apply relevant concepts and theories to demonstrate your understanding of the source and/or impacts of the organizational problem and the circumstances surrounding it.
- For example, if you state that Jane(individual) is stereotyping her co-workers(group), you will first examine perceptual short cuts, and then specifically describe stereotyping.
- You will then clearly demonstrate how Jane is stereotyping with the information provided in the case (for example, Jane stereotyped her coworkers by.......)
- Then, you will demonstrate the effects of this stereotyping on others, on decision making, on relationships, on productivity and job satisfaction, etc... as provided in the case. In other words what are the implications as it relates to the issues that are outlined in #2 above.
- In the analysis you must use OB terminology throughout your presentation as it is here you are demonstrating your understanding and application of the concepts.

3 .Solutions
You will identify two distinct and possible solutions to resolve the problem/isues stated in #2. These two solutions must be distinct, realistic and practical
- For the first solution explain why it is an option, but also why you are not choosing it as the optimal solution.
- For the chosen solution, simply state what the solution is. The explanation will come in the Justification section.
4.justification of the solution
The justification identifies why your chosen solution will work, not only to solve the stated problem/issue, but to deal with the symptoms as well.
You need to connect the justification back to all of the issues you examined in the case study analysis. Be detailed in your explanation. ?
