Organizational Development \& Change Management Hexel Components Unit employed around 600 employees who are engaged in manufacturing and assembling of machinery units which are being supplied to automobile industries in the country. Earlier management had allowed individual managers to decide upon the quantity of work to be completed by different sections of workers in different categories. There was no uniformity or standardization in the fixation of daily output of different tasks. Employees used to approach the work in a leisurely manner without any pressure to accomplish targets. They used to enjoy a lot of leisure time .and a slow pace of work as the nature of work was mostly routine When the new management team took over, they realized the need for streamlining the target output in a standardized manner across the unit. This means individual output targets need to be re fixed and the new team has done it after an assessment by an expert team. Also expert team suggested for redesigning of work, which may require the employees to upgrade their When the new management team decided to introduce the changes in the assembly line, employees altogether opposed the proposal.
