Question:
Our group chose this article concerning current topics in class, process design, to evaluate the effectiveness of process design and process flow methods deployed by the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) to reduce waiting times and patient satisfaction. The critical issues covered in this article are the systematic ideas implemented to shorter waiting times and improve patient satisfaction. Something stimulating from this article is the principle of ethics and how they apply a step-by-step approach in their interventions. The article contains a valuable flow chart of how this was conducted. This article had both trial and error. You will see the failed methods, which, before being implemented, and cost-effectiveness.
A few proposed questions (feel free to answer some or all):
What are other systematic methods you would implement to reduce health care wait times?
How would you change the process design?
What are your thoughts on the flow chart? What would you change, and what would you keep the same?
How did management do in this scenario? Please describe.
