Our National Debt now stands at $32.3 Trillion dollars, the highest it has been in the history of our country. Why is this important for our nation and what can be done about it?
Is health care a right or a privilege? If it is a right, where does this right come from and who should bear the cost of this health care?
What does it mean when President Biden states emphatically that the "rich should pay their fair share"? The IRS (Internal Revenue Service) collects about $4.5 Trillion in taxes each year from all sources, Corporations, Individuals, Estates, etc. Which means we spend far more than this and have been doing so for decades, accumulating the amount of our National Debt. If we expect families to live within their budget, why shouldn't we expect the same thing for our government...the people we elected to represent us?
Should student loan debt be "forgiven"? If so, how would you account for this "forgiveness"? Is this really a "debt forgiveness" or is it a "debt transfer"? Who would bear the burden of this from an accounting perspective? If an individual owes $20,000 in student loan debt and President Biden wipes this out, that student would be credited $20,000 and would not have to pay it. But where then is the debit entry? You know from your basic course in accounting that we use a double entry accounting system so what are the accounting entries to record this "wonderful forgiveness" or "transfer
