Students are required to research an article available from the website CYC-Net or from specific journals in the college library, that address or discuss behavioral issues in the field of child and youth care. The article must be more than 5 page and not more than 10 pages. The student will write an annotated bibliography of the article (which means a brief synopsis of the article highlighting its main points and conclusions). Students will include a copy of the article with their assignment.
Along with the article selection and summary, students will select an activity intervention that they feel is supported by the chosen article, and write up the activity using the Activity Format. The article is essentially the evidence for the use of the activity with children or youth who need behavioral guidance.
The first step is to select an article of interest that focuses on behavior issues in the field of Child and Youth Care.
Next draft a summary of the main points and conclusions made in the article.
Research activities using a variety of sources (i.e. books, websites, journals) to see what exists for evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Students are to select an intervention that they feel matches the theme or content of the article they had chosen to summarize.
Write up the intervention using the Activity Format (a copy is posted to Blackboard).
