Overview

You are required to examine a case study on a selected organisation (Coca Cola) regarding its sustainability efforts and to analyse the internal and external issues, challenges and trends for the business in the medium to long term (that is, the next 5 to 10 years).

The purpose of this assessment is to develop:

(a) your capacity to analyse and comprehend the concepts, models and environments in which organisations operate in a global business setting, and (b) your ability to identify the issues and challenges that impact businesses functioning within the larger societal context.

Assessment details

Critically examine whether the case study organisation (Coca Cola) fulfils its societal obligations.

Discuss the businesss sustainability efforts and consider the internal and external issues, challenges and trends for the business in the medium to long term (that is, the next 5 to 10 years).

Your response should:

• Identify the societal and environmental issues/problem(s) presented in the case (Coca Cola) and the stakeholders involved/ impacted.
• Research and analyse the key issues and challenges within the focus of the course and the theories and topics presented so far (Topics 1 to 4).
• Critique the identified behaviours:
  • Consider and critique arguments and implications on different stakeholders, including business and broader society
  • Consider why there may be more than one approach to address the identified issues
  • Consider whether the issues are indicative of wider patterns or trends.

For this assignment, students should support their critical analysis, through the judicious use a minimum of five (5) scholarly citations.
