Overview: You will now need to post your persuasive speech topic, the largest speech of the semester. After selecting an appropriate topic, you must now address the controversy/problem. What should be done and who should do it? Your answers to those questions will help you formulate your thesis statement as a proposition of policy. - Your thesis should unambiguously advocate for a change in the behavior of an agent. Select the agent that is best capable of accomplishing the action, as this will allow you to develop the "practicality" of your plan (how the action will address the need or fix the problem) in the body of the speech. - Your advocacy is a real opportunity to change the way people think and behave, to challenge the status quo (the way things are now), and to enhance people's health, awareness and quality of life. - The format is: Agent (who has the power to change this) + should + (action + impact on society clause) Samples Below
