PADIT is a constant process for which the "paint never dries" here either. For this assignment, you can take one of three approaches, each of which focus on a different level/frame/part of a process/user experience. Take any interface and redesign it from the perspective of your thoughts only. In other words, no actual redesign is to be completed. (Some students have taken their redesigns forward and implemented them for their own fulfillment, outside of class. No physical redesign is part of this assignment.)

APPROACH 1 paDit -- design

Consider Boeings Little Black Book (of mistakes). Take ANY interface/process/GUI/interaction that frustrates you and suggest how you would change it. Redesign only (on paper only, no prototyping necessary). Communicate your redesign by clearly identifying the before and then the rationale that justifies the after.

Be clear about what you want your redesign to accomplish. Notice how the concrete incorporates so many abstractions. Include diagrams of the before and after interface. Your diagrams can be "on a napkin" type. It is important to capture early musings, rationale, reframes and "hunkering".
