Prompts:

1. Within the past few years, the media have started to discuss how student loans often cause college students to enter the workforce deeply in debt. Does it cost too much to attend college? Is there a way, other than student loans, for a potential student to be able to afford a college education? Take one clear position on the issue and support that position with evidence.

2. Concealed carry laws are becoming increasingly controversial, especially when people feel as though their rights are being restricted or that they are in danger. Write a paragraph that takes a position on the question: Should students be allowed to carry a concealed weapon on a college campus? Support your argument with specific examples and evidence.

3. Argue for an improvement in your workplace, such as the addition of a bike rack, new chairs in the break room, or a place to swap books or magazines. Make sure your request is reasonable in cost and will be beneficial to a significant number of employees.
