Question: Part 1 - Draft Professional Development Plan Undertake your own professional development needs analysis using the Professional Development Plan ( PDP ) template FNSACC 4

Part 1- Draft Professional Development Plan
Undertake your own professional development needs analysis using the Professional Development Plan (PDP) template FNSACC418_AT1_TMP_TQM_v1, provided with your assessment files. This PDP is for your future in the Accounting and Bookkeeping industry, and your plan will relate to a role in this sector. You are required to research and identify your individual professional development needs and find appropriate opportunities that will enable you to achieve your goals, building on your current knowledge, skills and experience.
The template will provide further details on all of the requirements of the PDP.
When goal setting, it is recommended that you follow the SMART goal concept. Your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound.
You must include some short-term goals that can be achieved by the time you complete Assessment 3, as you are required to demonstrate progression.
This PDP is only required to be submitted as a DRAFT in Assessment 1. Your team will be required to suggest ways you can research and improve it.
(On Completion of Assessment 1, you will need to start planning for Assessment 3. Amendments to your PDP will be required to incorporate the feedback received from your team members, the progress you have made, and further reflections on your part. The final PDP is to be submitted in assessment 3.)
Part 2: Work Plan and Practice Group Meeting
1. You are required to form a group of 3-4 members. (Online students to use the discussion forum, as per teacher allocations, and face-to-face students as directed by your teacher.)
2. Provide the names of your group members to your teacher via email by the end of week 2.
3. Check in with your team to arrange a practice meeting. In this practice meeting, you are to assign the roles and responsibilities of each team member, using the Work Plan template in Appendix 1.1.
(Note for online students: You should have your work plan completed by Week 3. This initial check-in is informal, it is not recorded and it is not imperative that you attend (especially if scheduling is an issue). If you cant attend the check-in, then your team will allocate a role to you in your absence. This informal check-in will allow you to test your technology and break the ice, increasing the likelihood of a successful meeting video.
4. In the Work Plan, you delegate the roles for the meeting to include all team members. (If groups vary in size, then roles may be combined or adjusted.)
The meeting roles and responsibilities are:
i. Write and circulate the Agenda with time allocations.
ii. Facilitator / Host - Leads the meeting and walks the team through the Agenda.
iii. Time-keeper - Ensures members remain within their time allocation with polite intervention, if required.
iv. Minute taker - Writes and circulates the minutes.
5. Prior to the meeting you will have circulated the Agenda and draft PDPs so you are all ready to give constructive feedback in the meeting.
Conduct Meeting
Note: your assessor will use the observation checklist in Appendix 1.4 to record evidence of your performance, and to provide feedback.
6. The recorded meeting must be held in Week 4 for online students. Face-to-face students will be guided by their teacher.
7. The meeting should include:
a) A discussion of all the items listed on the Agenda. See Appendix 1.2.
b) Address challenges encountered working in teams and coordinating the meeting. You must discuss technological issues and you may also include, communication, scheduling, or any other barriers you have encountered. What contingency plans you have put in place to overcome the issues and move forward as a team?
c) Each member should give a brief summary of their PDP. You do not need to read every item, as other members would have already viewed it.
d) Each member must provide feedback during the meeting.
e) Each member must receive suggestions from their team of industry research required to update and improve their PDP.
f) Any adjustments to the work plan are to be mentioned and noted if applicable.
8. Minute Taking - may be done during the meeting in note form. The final minutes are to be typed up in the Minutes template provided in Appendix 1.3 and emailed to other team members.
9. Submission - All members will submit the same Work Plan, Agenda, Meeting Minutes, and meeting video (video for online students only).
10. Tip for online students - It may be advisable for two members to record the meeting, as then you have a back up if one file is lost or damaged.
Ensure the following separate files are submitted by the Assessment 1 due date:
1. Your individual DRAFT PDP
2. Work Plan with roles assigned, resources and timeline.
3. Agenda
4. Meeting Minutes
5. Video file (online students only)
