Context and Focus

The reading this week from Case & Given chapter $6$ review "related concepts" as they pertain to information seeking $"$in the context of what people think and do when they are looking...." $($pg $98).$ Case & Given list the following concepts, which are considered "closely related to information seeking: $...$learning, literacy, decision making, relevance, pertinence, salience, selective exposure, browsing, serendipity, knowledge gaps, information poverty, information overload, information avoidance, information encountering, information anxiety, entertainment, sharing and collaboration." $($pg$\mathrm{.}98)$ Case & Given present these concepts in the context of the research in which these concepts are the primary focus.

Marchionini's Perspective on Information Seeking $($Respond in $1$ paragraph$)$: Summarize Marchionini's views on the general cognitive abilities, specialized knowledge, and skills required for information seeking in electronic environments, as discussed on page $61.$ Do you agree or disagree with Marchionini's assessment of what's necessary for effective information seeking?
