Building on a past assignment of being the General Manager of the YMCA, you are now in charge of submitting a proposal for a new YMCA location anywhere in the United States.

  1. You must do market research on real cities/areas anywhere in the US. Explain the area you've chosen for the YMCA expansion and provide reasoning.
    1. Find out the sports and activities people are interested in (in that particular area).
    2. Does the area have a good population for a YMCA (That doesn't mean that it has to be a densely populated area. Just needs to be a good fit)
  2. What are the activities that will be offered at the YMCA? Give an overview of the programs and sports that will be offered at the new YMCA location
    1. If a certain region has a high participation rate of soccer, maybe you have more soccer programs offered. (Looking up high schools, rec centers, etc can help you formulate your programs)
  3. Give a brief overview of the overall layout of the facilities.
    1. What does the indoor facility consist of (# of courts, exercise equipment, swimming pools, etc)
    2. What does the outdoor area consist of (number and types of fields that support your program and sport offerings.

Part 2: SWOT Analysis- Make a SWOT analysis for your Part 1 proposal. You will post at least 1 example for each section of the SWOT. ( 1 strength, 1 weakness, 1 opportunity, and 1 Threat). Please list them and if an explanation is needed, please limit it to one or two sentences. The SWOT should be straight forward, short, and easy to read (like a one-sheeter).
