1. Pretend you had to explain death to a child, age 9 or under. Choose the age, and write few sentences about what you would say.
2. According to your text, at what age is it most acceptable to allow a child to attend the funeral of a close loved one? If you disagree, please cite supportive research or tell what you as a 3 year old, might think or feel if you saw a grandparent in a casket and then saw it lowered into the ground.

1. A thantologist studies the death and dying process. Elizabeth Kubler Ross researched terminally ill patients to develop her 5 stages of grief. These stages have actually been applied to other life "losses." You are coming to "the end" of this class. List the five stages of grief and apply them to the "loss" of this class in your life. (Is grief always sad?)
