Part II: Answer the Following Questions based on the given Case below. Case: It is known that the teaching learning process at Maryland International College is conducted using groupware or platforms like zoom and google meet, which are not originally designed to specifically assist teaching-learning process. Hence, MIC plans to deploy a Learning Management System (LMS) that supports the overall teaching learning process of the graduate school. The system will be connected with registrar system so that there will be smooth flow of information to and from the registrar office to course teachers and students. The system helps course teachers to teach online and capture attendance for each class automatically, to give assessments online, to receive questions and comments from students as well as to notify students' grade or any other concerned agenda. On the other hand, it support the students to attend their class regardless of where they are; to submit assessments from wherever they are; to follow up their academic status any time anywhere and so on. When the system is deployed, MIC doesn't need to have classrooms, nor does it want any other facilities which were important in face to face education. Following this, the college decided to increase the salary of its staff and to decrease the students' payment per credit hours. The college thinks implementation of LMS will lead to a win-win teaching learning process where both the college and stakeholders enjoy; through which, it will built its brand image. 1. Explain how the LMS system benefits the students and the college (4 Marks). 2. What type of Information system is LMS? Operational, Strategic or Decision support system? Why? (3 Marks) 3. Discuss whether the LMS is closed system or open system. Support your discussion with evidence
