Currently I am in the middle of considering an update to my computer. I have put together and build my own computer and the graphics processor is getting old and is slowing down at some of the games that I like to play in my limited free time. However, in updating my graphics card I would need to update the motherboard, my monitors, and very likely buy an external hard drive. In this example we have a 0-1 linear integer model with corequisite constraints. A corequisite constraint is A constraint requiring that two 0-1 variables be equal. Thus, they are both either in or out of solution together (Anderson et al., 2016, p. 515). Being corequisite would mean that if I upgrade my graphics processor, I also must upgrade the motherboard. The external hard drive would be more like a conditional constraint, A constraint involving 0-1 variables that does not allow certain variables to equal 1 unless certain other variables are equal to 1 (Anderson et al., 2016, p. 515). Meaning that the hard drive only gets purchased if the other two components are upgraded and not before as its not necessary to operate under the current state.
